Professional Support
King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH)
In Western Australia, most high-risk pregnancies will be cared for by the Maternal Fetal Medicine Unit at King Edward Memorial Hospital. You will be allocated a team for your continued care. Their flyer provides a brief introduction and contact details for the service.
Your Obstetric Team
Your obstetric team may decide that they are able to care for your condition without referral to King Edward Memorial Hospital. They will provide you with a plan to manage your pregnancy.
Counselling
It may help to talk to a professional counsellor or psychologist if you feel you are unable to cope with the stress that comes with a high-risk pregnancy. Speak to your doctor who will be able to refer you to an appropriate service.
